Aleph One
About
Marathon, Marathon 2, and Marathon Infinity are Bungie's original trilogy of games, which this project's engine was built to run alongside third-party content made for them. Aleph One is the open-source continuation of Bungie's Marathon 2 and Marathon Infinity engines, able to play Marathon, Marathon 2, Marathon Infinity, and third-party scenarios on macOS, Windows, and Linux (including a Flatpak build). It's licensed under GPLv3, actively maintained, and built from source using vcpkg-managed dependencies on macOS/Windows or autoconf on Linux/FreeBSD.
Getting started
Ready-to-run builds for macOS, Windows, and Linux Flatpak are available from the project's website. Game data (the original Marathon scenario files) must be downloaded separately and passed as a folder argument when launching the Aleph One executable.
