What this site is

Cloned Games is a catalog of open-source game clones and remakes, with links to the original games each one is based on. You can browse the entire site without creating an account — there are no accounts, logins, or user profiles here.

Cookies

No cookies are set just for you to browse the site. The one thing stored in your browser is your cookie-consent choice itself (accept/reject analytics), kept in localStorage — it never leaves your browser and we never see it.

If you accept analytics cookies in the banner, we load Google Analytics (GA4) to understand aggregate traffic (which pages get visited, roughly where from, that kind of thing) — those cookies are set by Google, governed by Google’s privacy policy. If you reject or leave the banner unanswered, analytics never loads — no script, no request, no cookie, nothing sent to Google. You can change your choice anytime by clearing your browser’s site data for this domain, which brings the banner back.

If advertising is added to the site in the future, ad partners may also set cookies to serve and measure ads. That will be gated behind the same consent banner, and this section will be updated before it happens — nothing changes silently.

Forms on this site

Submitting the contact form or a DMCA takedown notice stores what you enter — name, email, and whatever else you fill in — along with your IP address and browser user-agent (basic anti-abuse signal, same as most web forms). That data is used only to process your message or notice and is not shared beyond what is needed to review and respond to it.

Subscribing to the newsletter in the site footer stores your email address, plus your IP address as the same anti-abuse signal. Right now that just means it sits in our own database — the newsletter itself has not started sending yet, so nothing is forwarded anywhere and no mailing-list email reaches you in the meantime. Once we start sending, addresses already collected will be added to our list on Resend, the service we use to send it, used only for that — every email will include an unsubscribe link. This section will be updated once sending actually begins.

Third-party images

Cover art and screenshots on this site are hotlinked from their original sources (Wikipedia/Wikimedia, Steam, itch.io, SourceForge, and GitHub-hosted READMEs) rather than copied onto our own servers. Loading a page with these images means your browser makes a direct request to those third parties, which may see your IP address the same way any website you visit would. No tracking parameters are added to these requests.

Your choices

• Reject analytics in the cookie banner, or clear your site data to change it later.
• Ask to see or delete a DMCA submission or a message you sent us by reaching out through the contact form with your request — every submission is reviewed and answered by a person.

Children’s privacy

This site is not directed at children, and personal information is not knowingly collected from anyone under 13.

If what is collected changes — most likely once analytics or advertising actually goes live — this page and the update date above will change too.
