This is the released C64 source code for Altered Beast, credited to developer Michael J Archer and uploaded following an earlier release of Alien 3 source code by the same person. The files carry a binary data header left over from the older PDS development system used to write them, which the uploader notes is expected rather than a sign of corruption.
History
According to the source's own notes, coding on this C64 version began on 25 July 1989 and the last edit was made on 11 September 1989 — under seven weeks total — described by the uploader as 'a prime example of pressured development time to produce a title.'
