About
Angry Birds is a 2009 puzzle video game by Rovio Entertainment in which players use a slingshot to launch birds at pigs sheltered in structures, aiming to defeat all the pigs on the playing field. Apple Flinger is an open-source (GPL3) Android slingshot game, available on F-Droid, in which one or two players take turns flinging apples from a slingshot to destroy an enemy base across 18 levels; it supports single-player against a computer opponent as well as local two-player matches.
How it differs from the original
Unlike Angry Birds, it uses an apple-and-slingshot theme rather than birds and pigs, is built from the outset for local two-player competitive play in addition to solo play, and scores rounds by points earned from destroyed targets and wood blocks rather than a single-shot puzzle format.
Getting started
Install it from F-Droid, download a prebuilt release from the project's GitLab page, or build it from source with Gradle.
