About
This is a fan-made patch for the 1997 game Beasts and Bumpkins (developed by Worldweaver, published by Electronic Arts) that fixes the Windows registry settings needed to run it, removes the CD requirement, fixes gameplay lag on modern hardware, and adds a higher-resolution display option. It's built in Go with the Fyne UI toolkit and bundles the DXWrapper compatibility layer.
How it differs from the original
The patch adds an unofficial 1280x720 display option (up from the original 640x480, with some graphical glitches) and a developer console with cheats accessible via a function key — features not present in the unpatched game.
Getting started
Players need their own copy of the original game (from a CD or an abandonware ISO); the patch ships as a standalone installer that copies its files into the game folder and applies the fixes automatically.
