About
This is a BBC Micro port of the TRS-80 BASIC version of Scott Adams's text adventure Pirate Adventure, as published in BYTE magazine in 1980. It reimplements version 4.6 of Adams's original BASIC interpreter alongside a data-file generator, and is playable online through a hosted disc image running in a browser-based BBC Micro emulator.
How it differs from the original
Scott Adams's original program listing — including its line numbers and spelling mistakes — was kept as close to the source as possible; this port uses the later 4.6 interpreter, while the same author's companion Adventureland port uses the earlier 4.2 version.
Getting started
The game can be played immediately online via a linked browser-based BBC Micro emulator that auto-boots the included disc image, with no local setup required.
