About
This repository preserves the official 1996 interactive preview demo of Blood & Magic, developed by Tachyon Studios and published/distributed by Interplay Productions, for DOS and Windows 95. It includes a tutorial and two single-player scenarios, launched through the original installer and menu system.
How it differs from the original
As a demo, it ships only two unrelated single-player scenarios rather than the full game's preset story campaigns, custom Random Campaign, or two-player mode described in the manual.
Getting started
Install from the original disk using the appropriate DOS or Windows 95 installer, then launch the game from the Interplay program directory; the main menu offers a tutorial for new players and an option to replay the intro cinematics, which can also be skipped with Escape.
Known limitations
- platform: Requires DOS 5.0 or Windows 95; designed for legacy systems (486DX-66MHz with 8MB RAM minimum).
- audio: Supports limited list of specific sound cards from 1990s era; modern sound cards may not be compatible.
