About

Blues is a from-scratch rewrite of the game engines behind The Blues Brothers and The Blues Brothers: Jukebox Adventure by Titus Interactive, with added support for Prehistorik 2. It requires the original Amiga or DOS data files to run and is configured through command-line options for level, resolution, and display filters.

How it differs from the original

Compared to the original DOS executables, the rewritten engine adds horizontal scrolling, a configurable screen size, and cheats for unlimited lives/energy and invincibility ('no hit'); it also depends on the original games' own data files (for example .BIN/.CK1/.CK2/.SQL/.SQV/.SQZ for Blues Brothers, .EAT/.MOD for Jukebox Adventure, and .SQZ/.TRK for Prehistorik 2) rather than bundling its own assets.

Getting started

Place the required original data files next to the executable (or point to them with a data-path option) and run the program; command-line switches let you pick a starting level, enable fullscreen, adjust the graphics scale and filter, or turn on CGA colors and DOS-style scrolling.

Requires original assets. Requires data files from original Amiga or DOS versions (*.BIN, *.CK1, *.CK2, *.SQL, *.SQV, *.SQZ files); for Jukebox Adventure, DOS version files required (*.EAT, *.MOD); for Prehistorik 2, DOS version files required (*.SQZ, *.TRK).

A dedicated command-line option reproduces the fuchsia color behavior seen in a copy-protection crack of the original release.
