About

BOOM: Remake is a faithful remake of the original BOOM game, maintained as the actively developed 'boom' branch of the larger Lifish project. It's built with SFML and runs on Windows, Linux (x86_64/aarch64), and macOS (Intel and Apple Silicon).

How it differs from the original

The original BOOM game's assets belong to Factor Software and are not included or claimed by this project.

Getting started

Building requires SFML 2.5 or later and a C++ toolchain — CMake on Linux/macOS/BSD, or CMake with Visual Studio on Windows. A separate level editor (currently working on Linux and macOS only, with a Linux/Windows version in development) can be used to create custom levels, and the game can be pointed at a chosen level file when launched.

History

BOOM Remake began as a branch of Lifish, a separate BOOM-inspired arcade game that is now in indefinite hiatus, while this remake branch was continued separately to completion.
