About

Bugdom is a 1999 Mac game by Pangea Software, released as a pack-in title on Macs of that era and, according to this port's own description, likely the most advanced game to use Apple's QuickDraw 3D technology at the time. This is a modern source port of Bugdom for Windows, macOS, and Linux, made and re-released with permission from the original developer, Pangea Software, to provide the best way to experience the 1999 original today. It adds modern comforts and fixes some of the original's gameplay bugs while its developer explicitly kept broader design changes out of scope.

How it differs from the original

The port fixes some of the original 1999 game's bugs and adds unspecified modern comforts, but its developer deliberately avoided changing the underlying game design to keep the experience faithful to the original.

Getting started

It's distributed as native builds for Windows, macOS, and Linux.

History

This port was made and re-released with permission from the original developer, Pangea Software, more than two decades after Bugdom's original 1999 release.
