Cloned Games

Allegiance: 2 Open Source Clones Compared

The official Microsoft-released Allegiance source code is explicitly unsupported and was published after the game's own authentication and server infrastructure had already been shut down, so running a full multiplayer 'Club' server today requires building a replacement authentication system from scratch. Free Allegiance is an actively developed, MIT-licensed reimplementation built with Visual Studio and the Microsoft DirectX SDK, though it currently has no separate pre-built release — it must be compiled from source.
