Contra: 2 Open Source Clones Compared

Contra_remake is a from-scratch C++ student project that recreates only the first level of the original arcade game, without requiring any original game data. Contra US Annotated Disassembly instead reconstructs the actual NES ROM byte-for-byte, requiring the player's own US Contra ROM to build, and also supports assembling the PAL-region variant Probotector from the same source.
