MegaMan: 3 Open Source Clones Compared
Executive Man aims for close-to-complete reproduction of the original NES Mega Man gameplay, missing only ladders (left out because the extra up/down controls don't suit its touch-control scheme), and includes a Tiled-based level editor. Rockbot, by contrast, is explicitly not a clone of Mega Man's levels or story — it's a general SDL-based engine inspired by classic NES titles, bundled with its own Qt editor for building new stages, enemies and weapons from scratch, and supports a much wider range of platforms including Raspberry Pi and PSP.
