Star Raiders: 3 Open Source Clones Compared
These three projects reconstruct Star Raiders' original assembly source through different methods and to different degrees of completeness. Atari8bit_StarRaiders is an explicitly unfinished, currently unplayable disassembly. Star Raiders for Atari 800 is a hand-typed transcription from scanned printed listings, missing the symbol table from pages 113-116, and is no longer maintained. StarRaiders was reverse-engineered directly from the ROM cartridge binary and finished in 2015 with more extensive documentation.
