About

Deathchase 3D is a remake written by Paul Robson in autumn 2002, built with SDL 1.2 and developed using KDevelop 3.0 under SuSE Linux. The author states development was left unfinished, having "got fed up with it." It currently has no sound. The game exposes a large set of command-line parameters to fine-tune difficulty and feel, including screen resolution, movement/acceleration/turning speed scaling, enemy proximity and speed ranges, missile speed, collision precision, tree density, starting level, enemy count, and number of lives.

Getting started

Default controls are Z/X for turning, K/M for speed, Space to fire, and Escape to exit (changeable in the game's source configuration). It can also be launched with numerous command-line flags, listed via a help flag, to adjust screen size, difficulty, or starting level.

Known limitations

  • audio: There is no sound support.
