About

eZeus is an open-source reimplementation of Zeus: Master of Olympus (including its Poseidon expansion) that aims to closely match the original experience, including support for the original game's adventures. It ships as Windows binaries, with build instructions provided for macOS and Linux, and requires the original game's data files in English or Polish — other languages aren't supported due to font-glyph limitations.

How it differs from the original

eZeus includes some accidental minor differences from the original as well as optional new features not present in the original game, such as a reworked pedestrian ('walker') simulation and the ability to build two cities at once.

Getting started

You need the original Zeus: Master of Olympus base game and Poseidon expansion data files, in English or Polish. Windows binaries are provided directly; Linux and macOS users need to build eZeus themselves from source.

History

eZeus has been developed by a single author, Maurycy Liebner, since 2021.

Known limitations

  • platform: Only Windows binaries are provided; Linux users must build from source.
  • localization: Only English and Polish versions are supported due to font glyph limitations.
