About
Little Fighter 2 (LF2) is a fighting game whose original author is credited in this project as "Marti," referenced via lf2.net. F.LF (Project F) is a clean-room, from-scratch open-source reimplementation of Little Fighter 2 for the modern web, aiming to continue LF2 and provide a codebase for further creativity. It runs cross-platform in HTML5 on desktop and mobile, includes eleven playable characters (Bandit, Deep, John, Henry, Rudolf, Louis, Firen, Freeze, Dennis, Woody, and Davis) plus a VS mode, and supports peer-to-peer play over WebSocket, including self-hosted servers.
How it differs from the original
It's an independently engineered clean-room implementation rather than reused original code, supports all of the original's 1.9 backgrounds except "Lee On Road," adds new WebSocket-based networked multiplayer not present in the original, and converts the original's data files to JSON while keeping similar data-modification concepts.
Getting started
The F.LF and LF2_19 repositories must be cloned side by side inside a shared parent folder, after which the game can be opened directly in a browser — or played via the project's hosted web version.
