About

FreeBlocks is a puzzle game with gameplay similar to Tetris Attack, built with SDL2 and released under the GPLv3. Its graphics, backgrounds, font, and music are all separately-licensed, credited third-party assets (from Kenney.nl, OpenGameArt contributors, and others) rather than assets from the original game.

How it differs from the original

Unlike a direct reimplementation, FreeBlocks uses entirely original/third-party licensed art, fonts, and music rather than any assets from Tetris Attack itself.

Getting started

Compiled by running cmake and make in the project directory; controls include arrow keys to move the cursor and Left Control to switch blocks, with separate control mappings provided for generic joysticks and the GCW-Zero handheld.
