Based on Flappy Bird

About

Flappy Bird is a 2013 mobile game developed by Vietnamese developer Dong Nguyen, in which the player steers a bird between columns of pipes without hitting them, scoring a point for each pipe passed. Hocoslamfy is a Flappy Bird-style game in which the player controls a small bee that must fly between bamboo shoots without hitting them. It's built with SDL 1.2 and optimized for low-resolution screens, targeting both PC and the OpenDingux handheld platform, and is licensed under the GPLv2.

How it differs from the original

In place of Flappy Bird's pipes and bird, the player controls a bee navigating bamboo shoots, and the game targets low-resolution handheld hardware (via OpenDingux) in addition to PC, rather than mobile touchscreens.

Getting started

To build for PC, install SDL, SDL-image, and SDL-mixer 1.2 and run the project's standard build command to produce a windowed SDL game; a separate build target compiles it into an installable package for OpenDingux handhelds.
