About

Igor: Objective Uikokahonia is a 1994 graphic adventure game developed by Spanish studio Pendulo Studios and published by DROsoft, following student Igor Parker as he tries to win a place on a school trip to impress his classmate Laura Wright. This is a from-scratch x86 decoder and interpreter for Igor: Objetivo Uikokahonia, described by its author as mostly a proof of concept: it extracts the original game's datafiles and reimplements only the higher-level functions (palette, display, inputs), while still relying on the original executable's hardcoded logic and assets. It runs on Windows, Linux, and Android, but requires data files from the original Spanish CD release plus separately encoded audio tracks.

How it differs from the original

Only higher-level functions such as palette handling, display, and input have been rewritten from scratch; the core game logic and assets still come directly from the original executable's datafiles, and the original save/load screen has not been reimplemented.

Getting started

It requires the data files from the original Spanish CD release, plus the game's audio tracks re-encoded as Ogg Vorbis files; the game is then launched from the command line with the data directory, chapter number, save directory, and language given as parameters.

Known limitations

  • feature: Original save/load screen is not implemented.
Requires original assets. Requires the original game data files from the Spanish CD release (IGOR.DAT and IGOR.EXE).
