E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial is a 1982 Atari 2600 adventure game based on the film, in which the player guides E.T. through screens to collect three pieces of an interplanetary telephone. javascript-E.T. is an early-stage HTML5 remake of Atari's E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial; per the author's own README, development had barely begun at the time of writing, and the project is currently unplayable.

The author cites an online 'Fixing ET' retrospective examining the widely-criticized original Atari 2600 game as one of the project's inspirations.
