This repository contains the original 1982 BASIC source code for the ZX81 version of Kevin Toms's Football Manager, the first game in the Football Manager series. The player manages a team starting in the fourth division, balancing player selection, finances, and a basic transfer market, using entirely text-based displays and keyboard entry — later ports to other systems added animated match-highlight graphics not present in this ZX81 version.
History
Football Manager was a commercial hit, selling 500,000 copies in its first six years, and was ported to a wide range of home computers between 1984 and 1987, spawning a series that continued through Football Manager 3 in 1992.
