About

libmx2's example programs recreate several classic arcade games rather than cloning one original: Atari's Pong (1972) and Breakout (1976), and Asteroids (1979), plus a Tetris-style puzzle game and Acid Drop. libmx2 is a cross-platform C++20 library for building SDL2/OpenGL or Vulkan multimedia applications, providing window, input, audio, font, and configuration utilities alongside optional OpenGL and Vulkan rendering modules. It ships dozens of bundled example programs, including 2D clones of classic arcade games (Breakout, Asteroids, Pong, a Tetris-style piece game, Frogger, and Acid Drop) plus numerous 3D and shader tech demos, several of which are playable directly in a browser via WebAssembly builds.

Getting started

The library and its examples can be built with the pcons build tool (`uvx pcons`) or with CMake. Several of the bundled example clones, including Breakout, Asteroids, and Pong, can also be played directly in a browser through the project's WebAssembly builds linked from its website.
