About
Lunar Lander is a 1979 space-flight simulation arcade game by Atari, the most popular version of the "Lunar Lander" concept, which most later iterations of the idea are based on. Lander is a Lunar Lander-style game for Linux and Windows where the player steers a ship with the arrow keys, avoids obstacles, collects spinning keys, and lands on a pad; levels are randomly generated and get progressively harder. It supports keyboard and gamepad input, and includes pause and screenshot functions.
How it differs from the original
Unlike the original arcade game, levels here are randomly generated and increase in difficulty over time, and the game adds a requirement to collect keys scattered around each level before landing.
Getting started
Built with the Meson build system (meson followed by ninja install from a build directory). Controls are the arrow keys to turn and thrust, P to pause, and Enter to select menu options; a gamepad can also be used.
