About
Aliens Versus Predator is a 1999 first-person shooter developed by Rebellion Developments and published by Fox Interactive, part of the Alien vs. Predator crossover franchise. NakedAVP is an unofficial source port of Aliens Versus Predator Gold, derived from the icculus.org Linux and Mac OS X port. This version adds SDL3 support, code cleanups and fixes for various crashes and stack-smashing issues on Linux, and runs on Windows, macOS and Linux.
How it differs from the original
Multiplayer and movies, which were missing from the port it builds on, are still not supported.
Getting started
It builds with CMake and needs SDL 3, OpenAL and OpenGL; on Linux only GCC is supported. Game data from the GOG or Steam release or the original CD is required, all data files and folders must be renamed to lowercase, and the executable either goes into the data folder or is pointed at it via an environment variable.
Known limitations
- features: Multiplayer and movies are not supported in this port.
