The disassembled titles are NES/Famicom-era games from several publishers, such as Nintendo's Excitebike and Tennis (both 1984), Namco's Battle City (1985) and Konami's Castlevania III: Dracula's Curse (1989). NES Games Disassembly is a collection of compilable, editable disassemblies of NES games, each of which rebuilds to a ROM identical to the original. The disassemblies were produced with the author's BZK 6502 Disassembler scripts; 26 games are listed as done, with more marked work-in-progress or planned.

How it differs from the original

These are byte-identical disassemblies rather than reimplementations, so they add no new content; they are meant as an editable base for modification.

Getting started

On Windows, a disassembly is built by running the included assemble batch script; other systems use the equivalent shell script. For editing, important comments are tagged 'bzk', a preprocessing script strips the address annotations before compilation, and a Notepad++ 6502 syntax-highlighting definition is included.
