OpenEnroth

About
Might and Magic VI, VII and VIII are role-playing games developed by New World Computing and published by 3DO between 1998 and 2000. OpenEnroth is an open-source reimplementation of the Might & Magic VI-VIII engine for playing the original games on modern platforms, using the original game data. Currently only Might and Magic VII is playable, with MM6 and MM8 support planned; it runs on Windows, Linux and macOS, with experimental Android support.
Getting started
You need the original Might and Magic VII data (e.g. from GOG), at least its ANIMS, DATA, MUSIC and SOUNDS folders, plus a prebuilt OpenEnroth release placed alongside the data or in the platform-specific location. Linux users can install via Flatpak, and the GOG installer can be unpacked with innoextract on Linux and macOS.
Known limitations
- platform: Android support is experimental and not actively tested; expect issues.
