About

Liero is a 1998 MS-DOS game by Finnish programmer Joosa Riekkinen, described as a real-time version of Worms. OpenLieroX is a real-time, Worms-style 2D action game (the README likens it to 2D Quake with worms and ninja ropes), based on Jason Boettcher's Liero Xtreme. It is playable, with multiplayer, and has prebuilt releases for Windows, macOS, Linux and Android.

Getting started

Download a prebuilt build from the releases page. The unsigned macOS build shows an unidentified-developer warning on first launch; the README explains how to clear it.

History

Jason Boettcher released Liero Xtreme under the zlib licence in 2006, and after a few months of work the OpenLieroX team ported and enhanced it.
