Medal of Honor: Allied Assault is a 2002 World War II first-person shooter developed by 2015 and published by Electronic Arts, built on a modified id Tech 3 engine. OpenMoHAA is an open-source project to preserve and enhance Medal of Honor: Allied Assault and its Spearhead and Breakthrough expansions, built on ioquake3 and the F.A.K.K. SDK. It runs on Windows, Linux and macOS, the full single-player campaigns should work, and multiplayer is described as almost fully stable; it has not yet reached version 1.0.
How it differs from the original
It adds bots, a ban system and better support for modern systems, and includes all fixes from Spearhead 2.15 and Breakthrough 2.40b, while staying compatible with the original game's assets, scripts and multiplayer.
Getting started
Installation and launch guides are included in the project's documentation, and you need the original game's assets. All official multiplayer modes are supported, including Tug-of-War and Liberation from the expansions, and you can host a server or play offline against the built-in bots.
Known limitations
- status: OpenMoHAA has not yet reached version 1.0.0 and is considered beta; features are being added and bugs are being squashed.
