About
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. is GSC Game World's series of first-person shooter survival horror games, set in an alternate-reality Chernobyl exclusion zone. OpenXRay is a fan-made improved version of the X-Ray Engine used by the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. games, based on the X-Ray 1.6.02 code from Call of Pripyat. It works as a replacement engine for Call of Pripyat, Clear Sky and the Call of Chernobyl mod, and is actively developed.
How it differs from the original
It adds 64-bit support, better performance and fixes for original engine bugs, runs on Linux, macOS and BSD and on ARM and other CPU architectures, and adds new tools for modders. New gameplay features are optional, and the default stays close to the original games.
Getting started
You need your own copy of a supported game; installation steps are on the project's wiki. Shadow of Chernobyl is not supported yet, and Legends of the Zone/Enhanced Edition is not expected to be supported.
