Drug Wars is a turn-based arbitrage game written by John E. Dell for IBM PC compatibles as a high school project, released in 1984; the goal is to profit from buying and selling drugs across locations while paying off a loan shark before time runs out. psDrugWars is a PowerShell console RPG in the style of a BBS door game, loosely based on Drug Wars and its many clones over the decades. It features multiple international locations, different drug types to trade, random events, and cop encounters, and requires PowerShell 5.1 or newer with at least a 120x30 console window.
How it differs from the original
It adds cop fights and random events across multiple international locations on top of the base buy-low/sell-high loop, and includes immature, NSFW-flagged humor not present in the original 1984 game.
Getting started
Download the script, unblock it, and run it from a PowerShell terminal; it can also be launched directly from GitHub with a one-line PowerShell download-and-execute command, though that method won't save high scores.
