About
Solitaire (Klondike) is the card game bundled with Microsoft Windows, originally programmed by Wes Cherry with cards designed by Susan Kare, and often called the most-played PC game of all time due to its inclusion in Windows. PySol Fan Club edition (PySolFC) is an open-source, cross-platform (Windows, Linux, macOS) collection of card solitaire and patience games written in Python, maintained on GitHub and ported to Python 3, with an alternate Kivy-based build offering integrated sound and Android APK packaging.
How it differs from the original
Unlike the single Klondike/Solitaire game it's modeled after, it bundles a large collection of many different solitaire and patience game variants in one program.
Getting started
It can be installed via a Windows installer, run directly from source with Python, or obtained for Android through F-Droid; optional cardset and music packs can be added afterward for extra visuals and sound.
History
Shlomi Fish adopted and maintained PySol FC for several years, porting it to Python 3, but has since stepped down as primary maintainer, saying it had become a time sink now that he plays these games less; the project is actively looking for new contributors.
