About
Raiders of the Lost Ark is a 1982 adventure game for the Atari 2600, developed and published by Atari, Inc. and designed by Howard Scott Warshaw, based on the 1981 film of the same name. This project is a fully reverse-engineered and extensively commented disassembly of the original Raiders of the Lost Ark Atari 2600 cartridge, rebuildable from source with no original game assets required, accompanied by deep technical documentation of the game's ROM banking, frame loop, room system, and rendering kernels.
Getting started
Compile the game from source using the included Windows or Linux/macOS build tooling, then run the resulting ROM in the Stella Atari 2600 emulator.
History
This disassembly and its documentation build on an earlier, independent reverse-engineering attempt at the same game shared by developer Dennis Debro, which the author merged with their own work.
