About
RPG Maker, known in Japan as RPG Tsukūru, is a series of game-development programs originally created by the Japanese group ASCII, aimed at building role-playing and adventure games. RPG-Maker-MacOS-Launcher is a launcher application that lets RPG Maker MV, MZ, XP, VX, VX Ace, 2000, and 2003 games run natively on macOS. It downloads the appropriate runtime (nwjs, a custom MKXP-Z fork, or EasyRPG Player) based on files it detects in the game folder (package.json, Game.ini, or RTP_RT), then unpacks and launches the game through that runtime. Development on this launcher is complete, with only bugfixes planned; the author has moved active development to a newer, more versatile launcher called Xenolauncher.
Getting started
Point the launcher at an RPG Maker game folder; it automatically detects the engine version, downloads the matching runtime, and launches the game, with no manual engine installation needed.
