About
Snipes is a text-mode networked computer game created in 1983 by SuperSet Software for Novell NetWare systems, one of the earliest multiplayer text-mode games and the acknowledged inspiration for NetWars. This is a modern port of Snipes reverse-engineered from the original DOS executable, reproducing 100% identical game logic. It can be built with SDL2 for graphics or as a Windows console application, and runs on Windows and Linux (with an AUR package available for Arch Linux).
Getting started
Build the SDL2 or Windows console version and run the resulting executable. The game automatically records replay files of games played, which can be viewed again by passing the replay file as the first argument to the program.
