About
Sonic Rush Adventure is a 2007 platform game developed by Dimps and Sonic Team and published by Sega for the Nintendo DS, in which Sonic and Tails, transported to an alternate dimension, team up with Blaze the Cat and add sea-travel boating minigames to the series' usual side-scrolling levels. Sonic Rush Adventure is a work-in-progress matching decompilation of the Nintendo DS game of the same name, built from a player-supplied ROM and currently configured for the European revision 00 release. Most of the game's assembly code has been extracted and disassembled and most library functions named, but most game logic hasn't yet been decompiled into C, and the current build is not shiftable, meaning most modifications will currently break the game.
History
It draws on tooling built by the Pokémon Reverse Engineering Team, uses the Sonic 4: Episode 1 decompilation as a reference for shared modules, and was inspired by the Sonic Advance Trilogy Research Team's Sonic Advance 2 decompilation.
Known limitations
- build: The build is not shiftable; most modifications will cause the game to cease functioning.
Additional notes
- Tooling
- Sprite, background, and level editing for the project is done with a companion tool called Velocitas.
