About

Zarathrusta is a 1991 Amiga multidirectional shooter by The Whiz Kidz, itself inspired by the 1986 game Thrust and aiming to be an enhanced, 16-bit take on its gameplay. Super Transball 2 is the third game in the author's own Transball series, a Thrust-style game in which players fly a ship down into gravity-pulled levels to retrieve a sphere and carry it back to the top while dodging cannons, tanks, and doors. It offers three selectable ships with different speed/firepower tradeoffs -- the fast but weak Shadow Runner, the balanced V-Panther 2 returning from the earlier games, and the slow but powerful X-Terminator -- across 15 levels, plus a replay-saving system for reviewing past attempts.

Getting started

Choose one of three ships based on playstyle -- beginners are pointed toward the balanced V-Panther 2 or the powerful but slow X-Terminator -- then fly it down through each of the 15 levels to grab the sphere and carry it back to the top while avoiding cannons, tanks, and doors. Every attempt is auto-saved as a replay you can rename to keep.

History

Super Transball 2 was originally created between 2002 and 2005 as the third game in the author's Transball series; this repository was published later solely to preserve that original source code.

Trivia
The game deliberately hides your level-completion time during play, but it's visible afterward in saved replays.
