About

Supernova is a 1987 MS-DOS game written by Scott Miller and originally published through Apogee Software (3D Realms) as one of the company's earliest titles. This project is a 2018 Free Pascal port of Supernova, tested with Free Pascal 3.0.0 on Linux, Win32, and Win64, and best experienced on an 80x25 character terminal console.

Getting started

Build it with the Free Pascal compiler. Two original editing utilities (SPECIAL, LINERITE, ROOMRITE) aren't yet ported and aren't required just to play the game. On Linux there are some rough edges: the input prompt and double-pipe border characters may not render correctly, and sound isn't currently available.

Known limitations

  • audio: Sound not available on Linux.
  • compatibility: Incorrect characters for input prompt and double pipe borders on Linux.
