About

Track & Field is a 1983 arcade sports game developed and published by Konami, released in Japan with an official 1984 Summer Olympics license; it appeared in Europe as Hyper Olympic before its US release as Track & Field via Centuri in early 1984. Track'N'Field is an Amiga (AGA and ECS) remake of Track and Field / Hyper Olympic, supporting both PAL and NTSC display, joypad or keyboard controls for one or two players, and cheat keys for clearing fouls or boosting speed.

How it differs from the original

Unlike the arcade original, where a DIP switch reset is needed to get valid record times, this remake starts records at zero by default, so a player's own times are always valid — though harder to beat than the arcade's default records.

Getting started

Run it in PAL or NTSC mode; use the joypad's left/right (or blue/green) buttons to run and red/fire to jump or throw, or on keyboard use the arrow keys to run and Ctrl to jump/throw as player one. Each event rewards its own timing technique — for example, pressing the run buttons as fast as possible in the 100-meter dash, or holding the throw button through the foul line in the javelin.

Additional notes

Easter egg
Every event except the fifth has a hidden way to earn a secret 1000-point bonus, such as tying the CPU in the dash or hurdles, or holding the javelin throw button past the foul line.
