About
Tyrian is a vertically scrolling shooter developed by Eclipse Software for MS-DOS and published by Epic MegaGames in 1995; an enhanced version, Tyrian 2000, followed in 1999, and the original game was re-released as freeware in 2004. Tyrian Remake is a shoot-'em-up built on the LionEngine that aims to keep as many elements of the original 1995 Tyrian as possible, using original Tyrian graphics, sound effects, and music from Epic Megagames. It targets Java 17 and runs on Windows, Linux, and Android (API 21+), and also serves as a prototype/use-case project for the LionEngine game engine itself.
