About
Super Monkey Ball is a 2001 game developed by Amusement Vision and published by Sega, debuting as an arcade cabinet before an enhanced GameCube port made it Sega's first game published for a Nintendo home console. Veraball is a 'roll the ball' game built with the Godot Engine, in which players collect coins and race to the goal without falling off the level, earning a speed boost the faster they roll.
How it differs from the original
Unlike Super Monkey Ball's console ball-and-maze format, Veraball is a free/libre PC game built on the open-source Godot Engine with its own original assets, with its code and art released under separate open licenses.
Getting started
It requires the Godot Engine 2.0 alpha specifically — the 1.1 stable release will not run it. Import the project folder via Godot's Project Manager, then move with WASD or the arrow keys, hold Shift while moving to boost, and press Space to jump.
