About
Yiff! is a 1998 DOS puzzle game about two fox players taking turns placing pieces on a 6x4 grid; when a square exceeds its capacity the pieces scatter to adjoining squares and change to the current player's color, potentially chaining further reactions. Players can also place walls, which block reactions and absorb up to three hits, and the goal is to be the first to turn every fox on the board your color.
Getting started
To install, unzip the archive into a directory; on Windows 95 it runs directly from a DOS session by typing 'YIFF', while other systems need the CSDPMI DOS extender installed and CWSDPMI run first. Use the arrow keys to select a square and Enter or Space to place a piece, W to place a wall, and Escape for the options menu; the main menu also offers a computer-vs-computer demo and 1- or 2-player games.
