Cloned Games

Skool Daze: 3 Open Source Clones Compared

Pyskool is a from-scratch Python/Pygame reimplementation of Skool Daze and its sequel Back to Skool, built to be customized via configuration files or Python code, and it bundles several fan-made variant editions alongside the originals. The Skool Daze disassembly is instead a byte-level disassembly of the original ZX Spectrum binary, generated with SkoolKit and published as browsable, annotated documentation (or an assembly source file) rather than a modifiable game. Oric-Software is a large, general-purpose repository of Oric computer software from many contributors, in which a Skool Daze project is only one small part alongside unrelated games, demos and tools.
