About

Skool Daze (1984) and its sequel Back to Skool (1985) were action-adventure games by Microsphere for the ZX Spectrum, written by David Reidy with graphics by Keith Warrington, both revolving around the schoolboy Eric and his report card, and regarded as early pioneers of the open-world sandbox genre. Pyskool is a re-implementation of Skool Daze and Back to Skool in Python and Pygame, designed to be easy to customize either by editing a configuration file or, for deeper changes, by writing Python code.

How it differs from the original

Also bundles several fan-made variant or remixed editions of the two games alongside the originals themselves.

Getting started

Building it requires first generating the game's launcher scripts, images, ini files, and sound files through the project's build tooling, after which any of several included game launchers can be run directly to play.
