About
Fade to Black is a 1995 game by Delphine Software. f2bgl is a re-implementation of the game engine used in Fade to Black (Delphine Software, 1995), playable on Windows and Android. It supports both the full PC release and the PC demo, with configurable language (English, French, German, Spanish, Italian), display and rendering options, and keyboard, mouse, or gamepad control schemes. Development on the project appears to have stopped, and the repository is now archived.
How it differs from the original
Compared to the original 1995 engine, f2bgl adds configurable rendering options that didn't exist at the time — an adjustable field of view, selectable texture filtering and scaling, and toggleable fog and gouraud shading.
Getting started
You need the original Fade to Black PC release or demo data files; f2bgl looks for them in the current directory by default, or a custom path can be set via command-line options. It supports subtitles, several languages, and both keyboard/mouse and gamepad control, with quick-save and quick-load slots.
