About
GoldenEye 007 is a 1997 first-person shooter developed by Rare and published by Nintendo for the Nintendo 64, based on the 1995 James Bond film of the same name, with a four-player split-screen multiplayer deathmatch mode. This is a work-in-progress decompilation of GoldenEye 007 for the Nintendo 64, able to rebuild the NTSC-U, Japanese, and PAL ROMs, each verified against a specific SHA1 checksum; the repository doesn't include the game's original assets, so a legally owned copy of the game is required to extract them before building.
How it differs from the original
As a decompilation project, its goal is to reproduce the original ROMs rather than change them.
Getting started
A prior copy of the original game is required to extract the assets needed for compiling; setup, project-structure, and code-style guides are included in the repository's documentation for contributors.
