About
Hedgewars is a turn-based strategy game in which each player commands a team of up to eight hedgehogs and uses over 40 weapons — bazookas, mines, dynamite, exploding rubber ducks, grenades, and more — to attack opponents across terrain that deforms as it's damaged. It's actively developed and runs on Windows, Linux, macOS, and other platforms, with singleplayer training missions, online/LAN multiplayer, and a Lua scripting API for custom content.
Getting started
New players should start with the built-in Basic Movement Training and other training missions, then try singleplayer quick matches against the computer before jumping into multiplayer. Default controls use the cursor keys to walk and aim, the mouse to move the camera and select weapons, and the space bar to shoot.
History
Hedgewars has been developed since 2004, originally by Andrey Korotaev.
