About

Tetris is a puzzle video game created in the mid-1980s by Soviet software engineer Alexey Pajitnov, in which falling four-block tetrominoes are arranged to clear filled horizontal lines; it has since appeared in roughly 220 versions across at least 70 platforms. Javascript Tetris is a basic HTML5 canvas implementation of Tetris, released under the MIT license and supported on Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Opera, and IE9+. Development halted before planned features — a menu, animations/effects, levels, high scores, touch support, and music/sound — were added.

How it differs from the original

Unlike most Tetris versions, this one has no levels, high-score tracking, or music/sound effects, since those were planned but never implemented.
