About

Pharaoh is an isometric city-building game set in Ancient Egypt, made by Impressions Games and released by Sierra Studios in November 1999, with a Cleopatra: Queen of the Nile expansion in 2000. Ozymandias is an early-stage project to recreate the engine of Impressions Games' city builders, such as Pharaoh and Zeus, in Godot 3.6 (Mono/.NET). So far it has only basic structure and menu logic. It replaces the author's earlier C++ project, which focused on Pharaoh and has been discontinued.

Getting started

You need the original game files to build and play it, and Godot 3.6 (Mono/.NET) to open the project. It is not yet playable.

History

It is a redo of the author's discontinued C++ Pharaoh project, Ozymandias_Julius, and was inspired by Julius and Augustus, the open-source reimplementations of Caesar III.

Known limitations

  • compatibility: Project is still early in development with barebones structure and menu logic.
Requires original assets. Requires original Pharaoh game files; uses Godot engine to recreate the game.

Additional notes

Related
The earlier C++ project is Banderi/Ozymandias_Julius, and dalerank/Akhenaten is a third-party continuation of it.
Affiliation
The project states that it is not affiliated with or endorsed by Activision, Triskell Games or other rights holders.
