About
Tron is a 1982 arcade action game developed and published by Bally Midway, based on the Disney film of the same name. Pink Pony is a colourful, Tron-like 3D racing game where the players are ponies. It has computer-controlled opponents and split-screen multiplayer for up to four people on keyboard or game controller. It is free and open source, runs on Linux and Windows, and is licensed mainly under GPL-3.0+.
How it differs from the original
It is a 3D racing game played with ponies on heightmap-based terrain. Players can also make their own maps from grayscale heightmap images.
Getting started
Download instructions are on the project's website. To build from source, install SCons and the listed libraries, run scons, then start the game with the Pony executable; ESC stops the game. Almost everything, including controls and resolution, can be changed in the pony.options config file.
